Last week, crews wrapped up the curb and gutter work and poured most of the new concrete pavement between Hall Avenue and Pierce Avenue, near Wisconsin Street. This week, the contractor’s focus shifts to finishing touches and sidewalk improvements. Early in the week, crews are replacing the crosswalk at Wells and Main Streets and continuing with concrete paving. By midweek, they’ll begin removing old sidewalks and prepping for new concrete between Hall and Pierce/Wisconsin. Toward the end of the week, they’ll pour the concrete bases for the new light poles—those poles will be installed later. City officials remind drivers that the intersection of Wells Street and Main Street will remain closed October 13th through October 20th. Most of the work will happen early in the week, but the closure will stay in place to give the new concrete time to fully cure. Drivers are asked to follow the posted detour and avoid the area until it reopens.
