For a second time this football season an opponent is forfeiting their game against the Menominee Maroons. The Maroons were scheduled to play Manistique at home in a non-conference game to wrap up the regular season, but Menominee Athletic Director Sam Larson said Manistique has decided to forego the last week of the season due to injuries and lack of available players. Menominee was unable to find a suitable replacement game so the Maroons will not be playing Friday night. The Thursday JV game at Manistique was also cancelled. Larson says the team and coaches will use this last week of the season to prioritize player health and get our team ready for play-offs. The Michigan playoff brackets come out Sunday.
Earlier in the season Hancock forfeited their conference game with Menominee.
