The Marinette School District says two social media posts made by high school students last week prompted a police investigation. The posts were connected to Wednesday’s earlier incident at the high school and, according to the district, could have been interpreted as potential threats. The City of Marinette Police acted overnight and fully investigated both posts, ultimately confirming there was no threat to students or the school community. District officials are urging families to continue talking with their children about responsible social media use and maintaining a safe school environment. They say student safety remains their top priority and thanked the City of Marinette Police Department for its continued partnership.
