Armada Media is buying back our group of Marinette–Menominee radio stations it originally sold about a dozen years ago. The stations changing hands include Cat Country 95.1, The Rock 96.3, Classic Hits 103.7, Sports Talk WMAM 570 and its FM translator, and News/Talk WAGN 1340 along with its translator. The selling company, Radio Plus Bay Cities, is co-owned by Chris Bernier and his brother, Adam. They bought the stations from Armada Media back in 2013. Bernier also holds ownership stakes in the buying company, AMC Partners Escanaba. Armada’s broadcast footprint stretches across the Upper Peninsula and several Midwestern states, and the buyer already operates a network of stations throughout Michigan’s U.P. The sale is pending FCC approval.
