Marinette County has selected its next County Administrator — choosing a familiar face from inside county government. The County Board has approved Kevin Solway to take over the leadership role, effective March nineteenth. Solway currently serves as the county’s Technology Services Director and has worked in multiple departments during his career with the county. County leaders say his deep understanding of local operations and long-standing relationships across departments made him a strong candidate for the job.
Solway’s appointment follows the planned departure of current Administrator John Lefebvre, who announced he would be stepping down this spring. Board members debated the hiring process, with some expressing a desire for a broader external search, while others emphasized the value of promoting from within.
Solway’s hiring is contingent on final approval of an employment agreement, which will now go before the full County Board. If approved, Solway will officially assume the role March nineteenth.
