A blizzard warning is in effect through 4pm tomorrow.

Area authorities say TRAVEL IS NOT ADVISED: Roads are becoming impassable in many areas of Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula . Please stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary to keep yourself and others safe.

Menominee County 9-1-1 reports:

Menominee County Road Commission is plowing.

They are plowing main trunks (US 41, M-35, US 2 and US 2-41).

Secondary roads are not a priority.

Conditions are hazardous and travel is not advised.

Tow trucks will not be called out by law enforcement.

Visibility is low and many roads are becoming impassible.

Please stay off the roads.

Each reported stranded vehicle puts a first responder at risk checking on it.

We are seeing a number of power outages in the area. Marinette County has released a listed of available Warming Centers for those without power. You can find the list at Bay Citiesconnect.com

The Greater Marinette Menominee YMCA will be:

– CLOSED on Sunday, March 15 and will have a noon Delayed Opening Monday, March 16

Members with 24/7 access may continue to use the YMCA during this time. Please use caution, as parking lots and walkways may be snow-covered and slippery.

The Community REC Center in Marinette will be closed Sunday and Monday.

We expect all area schools to be closed Monday. The Marinette, Menominee, and Peshtigo schools are among those already announcing closures for Monday.

Graetz Manufacturing in Pound will be closed Monday.

Koehne Chevrolet GMC and Koehne Powersports will be closed Monday.

The Cities of Marinette and Peshtigo have declared Snow Emergencies.

In Marinette, On-Street parking is banned from now through 12am Tuesday.

In Peshtigo, on Street parking is banned until Noon on Monday.

Garbage pickup in Marinette will be delayed by a day next week.

The Marinette Circuit Courts will be closed Monday. All court proceedings will be rescheduled.
