WEATHER RELATED ANNOUNCEMENTS 3/16/26

Snowfall totals are approaching three feet as the two day blizzard winds down,

The Marinette County Highway Department plow crews are active with winter operations.
The County Highway Commissioner strongly urges residents not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
If travel is unavoidable:
• Inform someone of your route and expected arrival time.
• Carry a winter emergency kit, including blankets, food, water, a flashlight, and a phone charger.
• Keep your fuel tank as full as possible.
• Drive slowly and be prepared for sudden whiteout conditions.
Residents are advised that the safest option is to remain where they are until conditions improve and road crews are able to clear the roadways.

In Menominee County , 9-1-1 reports only main roads and streets are being plowed.
Most secondary roads are still impassible.
Conditions are hazardous and travel is not advised.
High winds affecting visibility and causing snow drifts.
As of 9:15am, The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office says US 41 north and south of Stephenson and  US 2/41 east of Powers are impassible.
The snow emergency has been extended until 12 pm, Wednesday, March 18th.
Marinette City Hall, Marinette Water Utility Department, the Community REC Center, the Marinette Senior Center, and the Marinette Welcome Center will all be closed on Tuesday, March 17th.
Many School District are already announcing they will be closed again Tuesday.
Public Health Delta Menominee Counties will be closed through Tuesday.

Winsert will be closed though 2nd shift today.

The Salvation Army Reports because of the blizzard, the Feeding America Mobile Pantry truck will not be able to make it this Thursday. At this time they we do not know if it will be rescheduled.

All Marinette campuses of JCI will be closed for the 1st and second shifts today. At this time 3rd shift will return tonight.

Enstrom Helicopter will be closed today.

Samuel Pressure Vessel Group will be closed for both first and second shifts today

  1. W. Fernstrum and Company will be closed today

Patz Corporation will be closed today for all shifts.

Graetz Manufacturing will be closed 5nday.

Koehne Chevrolet GMC and Koehne Powersports will be closed today.

All offices of The Stephenson National Bank & Trust will be closed today.

All Peshtigo National Bank locations are closed.

 

 

Menominee City Hall will be closed today.  The City Council meeting has been Postponed to Tuesday.

Garbage pickup in Menominee and Marinette will be delayed by a day all this week.

Oconto County officials have announced that non-essential county government offices and services will be closed  today except for essential public safety and emergency operations.

The Marinette Circuit Courts will be closed tonday. All court proceedings will be rescheduled.
