The Marinette County Public Services Committee got an update last week on staffing shortages, rising juvenile cases, and major drug investigations impacting the county. Marinette County District Attorney DeShea Morrow says felony filings are already ahead of last year’s pace, while staffing challenges continue inside the DA’s office.
Morrow also told supervisors juvenile cases are becoming increasingly difficult, with some teens being housed in detention facilities outside the county because of behavioral concerns and limited placement options.

Chief Deputy Bill Swanson says one recent fentanyl seizure alone represented thousands of potentially deadly doses.
The committee also received updates from the jail, dispatch, and child support departments during the lengthy meeting.
