A local celebration of creativity and community is coming to the Spies Public Library this weekend.
The Menominee Area Arts Council, also known as MAAC, is hosting an artist reception Saturday, May 16th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the library. The event highlights artwork from dozens of local artists and includes the presentation of three student scholarships supporting the arts.

The reception will also include recognition of MAAC scholarship recipients, including a brand-new award created this year to honor students who mentor young artists in the community.
Gamlin says the exhibit will remain on display throughout the month at Spies Public Library. Again, the MAAC artist reception takes place Saturday from 10:30 until 12:30 at Spies Public Library in Menominee
