A Wisconsin man is dead following a crash involving a motorcycle and SUV in Dickinson County Thursday afternoon.
According to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received multiple 911 calls around 2:19 p.m. reporting a serious crash near the intersection of U-S 2 and Baler Drive in Breitung Township.
Investigators say a sport utility vehicle pulling a trailer was traveling eastbound on U-S 2 and attempted to turn onto Baler Drive. The SUV, driven by a 70-year-old Wausaukee man, turned in front of an oncoming motorcycle.
Authorities say the motorcycle, operated by a 21-year-old man from Niagara, collided with the trailer.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were Michigan State Police, Iron Mountain Police, Kingsford Public Safety, Integrity Care EMS, the Breitung Township Fire Department, and Town and Country Wrecker.
