The Menominee Animal Shelter is hoping to find homes for several senior cats — while also reminding the community there are plenty of ways to help local animals in need.
Animal Shelter volunteer Linda Kozleski says that one of the shelter’s cats named Alucard… a social, nearly eight-year-old cat she says is great with people and other animals.
Kozleski says the shelter also offers a special “Seniors for Seniors” adoption program, which waives adoption fees for senior citizens adopting pets eight years old or older with an approved application.
The shelter currently has seven senior cats available for adoption, while the dog kennels are completely full.
Kozleski says even people with busy schedules can make a difference by volunteering for just an hour at a time.
The shelter also has two upcoming fundraisers planned. A meat raffle will take place Saturday at the Gateway Bar in Crivitz beginning at 3 p.m. A rummage sale, bake sale, and plant sale benefiting the shelter is also scheduled for Saturday, June 13th.
Anyone interested in volunteering or adopting can stop by the Menominee Animal Shelter during regular business hours.
