The future of the Marinette library was part of Tuesday’s discussion about the former UW-Green Bay Marinette campus.
Library Director Vanja Anderson outlined what would be required if the library were forced to relocate, including accessibility upgrades, meeting space requirements, storage needs, and the cost of moving the library’s collection and equipment. Officials say any potential move would involve significant planning and expense.
The presentation also highlighted the structural requirements needed to support library shelving, public meeting rooms, staff work areas, and continued public access to services during any transition.
Later in the discussion, local leaders emphasized the importance of keeping the library in downtown Marinette if possible.
Officials say discussions regarding the campus and library’s future are ongoing, with city and county leaders continuing to evaluate long-term options.
