The Northern Lights Master Gardeners are closing out the summer with activities for children, gardening advice and an evening plant sale.
The final children’s event of the season will be held Saturday, September fifth, from ten until noon at Harmony Arboretum.
Northern Lights Master Gardener Dolores Konrad says families will have several activities waiting for them.
The event will include a scavenger hunt, a lesson about pollinators and, weather permitting, sprinklers for children to play in.
Families are encouraged to bring clothing suitable for getting wet.
The organization’s monthly Let’s Talk Gardening program will also be held Wednesday, September ninth, at three p.m. at the Marinette Senior Center.
The program will focus on properly storing and curing onions, garlic, potatoes, squash and other produce for the fall and winter.
The Master Gardeners will then hold an evening plant sale at Harmony Arboretum on Thursday, September seventeenth.
Master Gardeners will be available during the sale to answer questions about plants, insects and garden diseases.
The group is also beginning preparations for a 2027 celebration marking 35 years of Master Gardeners in the community and the development of Harmony Arboretum.
More information is available through the Northern Light Master Gardeners Facebook page or the Marinette County Extension Office.
