The number of families seeking help from the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Marinette has jumped nearly twenty percent in just one week and staff say the need is only expected to grow.
Executive Director Ashley Campbell says her team has already seen a surge ahead of this month’s changes to the federal SNAP food-assistance program.
Campbell says community donations are keeping the shelves stocked for now, but more help is still needed.
The pantry serves residents of Marinette and Peshtigo, open Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. No one is turned away; clients simply bring a photo ID and proof of address.
Campbell adds that anyone who needs help shouldn’t hesitate to ask.
