67 year old Cheryl Mitchell of Pound was charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle for the Thanksgiving Day crash which killed one person and injured two others. She told police she had three glasses of wine in the hours before the wrong-way crash on I-43. Made an initial court appearance in Brown County Monday, She also faces two counts of injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle. She returns to court Dec. 9 for a preliminary hearing.
According to the criminal complaint, emergency crews responded to the two-vehicle crash on I-43 near the ramp with State 96 shortly after 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving. The vehicle Mitchell allegedly struck contained a husband and wife who were injured and their 37 year old son, who died on Saturday. They were from Two Rivers.
