The man accused of bringing a loaded gun and knives to a school blood drive in Peshtigo appeared in Marinette Circuit court Friday. Police say 33-year-old Trevor Salewsky of Menominee brought the weapons with him when he attended last Monday’s blood drive at Peshtigo High School. Authorities say students who alerted staff about his behavior may have helped prevent a dangerous situation. Investigators say officers found a loaded handgun and knives in his possession. Salewsky is also accused of later escaping from his handcuffs and assaulting officers. He now faces four felony charges, including possessing a firearm on school grounds, resisting an officer causing substantial bodily harm, attempting to disarm an officer, and battery to a person involved in the court system. He’s also charged with four misdemeanors, including two counts of possessing dangerous weapons at school, theft of property under $2,500, and disorderly conduct. Because of statements Salewsky allegedly made about authorities in Marinette County, he is being held in the Oconto County Jail. Judge James Morrison imposed a $50,000 cash bond for Salewsky. An adjourned initial appearance is scheduled for February 16th.
