Menominee County Sheriff Darrin Kudwa reports on Thursday January 29th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CST Detectives and Deputies took a Stepheson man into custody for sex crimes. The Sheriff’s Office investigation started in Daggett Township in 2025. After reviewing the investigation, the Menominee County Prosecutor’s Office issued charges that lead to the arrest.

Jamil Gomez-Castro, 30 was arraigned in 95A District Court on Friday for Two (2) counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor in the Third Degree. Gomez-Castro remains in custody at the Menominee County Jail on a $25,000 cash/surety bond.
