Republican policies, affordability struggles, and protecting the Upper Peninsula’s future are at the center of Rachel Keys’ campaign for Michigan’s 108th House District seat.
Keys, an Anishinaabe woman and museum director, says everyday families are being squeezed harder than ever.
Keys says rural housing is another growing crisis across the U.P., especially as private equity firms continue buying homes that local residents can’t afford.
She says communities need local solutions that create pathways to home ownership instead of more outside investment driving up prices.
Keys also addressed mental health care shortages, environmental concerns, and political division, arguing that Upper Peninsula residents share more common values than political parties often admit.
Keys says she entered the race because she believes voters deserve another option and a stronger voice for working families in the Upper Peninsula.
