Drivers traveling through northern Marinette County will soon need to slow down.
The Marinette County Highway Department says a temporary 35-mile-per-hour speed limit will take effect today, Thursday, June 11th, on County Highway A between Rosa Avenue in the Village of Crivitz and County Highway X.
The reduced speed limit will remain in place through October 30th, or until construction work is completed.
Highway officials say the lower speed is intended to protect construction workers, motorists, and nearby residents while work is underway.
The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol have been asked to help enforce the temporary speed limit throughout the construction zone.
Drivers should also plan for possible traffic delays during the project.
