A FREE outdoor event this weekend is encouraging residents to get outside and explore one of Marinette County’s most popular trail systems.

The Marinette Area Mountain Bike Association, also known as MAMBA, is hosting a Bike and Hike event Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Strong Falls Trail System near Silver Cliff.

Marinette County Tourism Director Autumn Timblin says the event is designed for both experienced riders and people who simply want to enjoy a walk in nature.

Timblin says visitors will have a chance to explore newer sections of the trail system while learning more about the work being done by the local mountain bike club.

The trail system connects to nearby park areas and provides access to scenic waterfalls. Timblin says Marinette County is home to 15 publicly accessible waterfalls, making the area a popular destination for outdoor recreation.
